Fourth Annual New Year’s Fireworks Display

by ISD Tedra Kerrigan

Umokka, Lonetrek - The fourth annual New Year's Fireworks Celebration, hosted by Daggaroth and New Eden Radio, is set to kick off at 23:00 UTC, 31 December, in Umokka, outside the Caldari Navy Testing Facilities at the fourth moon of Umokka X.

Last year's event was a rousing success, with local peaking at 1800, and this year is expected to bring even more capsuleers to watch and participate.

As usual, anyone in possession of a working laser turret or missile launcher is welcome to attend, and of course Festival Launchers sporting the new fireworks will be most welcome. New Eden Radio will be hosting a dedicated show during the event.

There will also be numerous competitions going on throughout the event, including raffles for a Moros and three Chimeras. Anyone hoping to contribute prizes or ISK should contact Daggaroth via EVE mail.

ISD Invades New Eden

by ISD Ashen Talinthe

The Interstellar Services Department (ISD) has been authorized to 'invade' New Eden, and will be holding events in many popular systems and trade hubs until January 1st. Their mission is to spread holiday cheer, answer questions, and interact with their fellow capsuleers.

When asked how the invasion was going STAR Tipene had this to say; “Extremely well. The pilots we meet in space are at first surprised to see us outside our normal roles, but soon welcome the idea of having some fun and festivities in the local system.” Reception of the invasion has been good, with many capsuleers joining in on the festivities.

ISD members have been making the most of the opportunity to interact with their fellow capsuleers. “Most of us spend time locked away doing our duties and the general population don’t get to see the people behind the roles we perform. So it's good to get people to see we're real pilots like them, we enjoy flying around and we always have a space for wiling recruits.” said STAR Tipene. The mission is all about capsuleer interaction.

STAR PlayingCard had this message for his fellow capsuleers “Make sure that you are having an excellent holiday. New Eden couldn't be the place it is without you and you make it special. It been a privilege introducing new members in to this community and I'm really excited for 2013 and what it will bring for New Eden.”

So be on the lookout for that ISD conga line coming to a system near you. Happy Holidays, New Eden!

Snowball Fights Continue to Break Out Across New Eden

by ISD Tedra Kerrigan

The sudden appearance of snowball-firing 'Festival Launchers' in many pilots' inventory - apparently a gift from the mysterious Polaris-based alliance C C P - has led to an upsurge in random attacks in many parts of New Eden.

Trade hubs seem to be heavily affected, with Jita and Amarr seeing periodic outbreaks of snowball-related violence, but no system has escaped unscathed. CONCORD officials stated that they saw no harm in these attacks, and were found to be in favor of 'harmless fun'. They have modified their detection algorithms to ignore snowball attacks. This is a change from a previous year when nervous capsuleers, upon being attacked with snowballs, responded with live ammunition, drawing CONCORD attention. The snowball-firing attackers then proceeded to loot the hair-triggered unfortunates' wrecks. Serious consequences were averted when the snowballs melted several months later.

Longtime Jita resident Mars Theran said that he had attacked several bystanders in Jita, throwing snowballs with abandon, and stated that he thought the snowballs were fun.

While pilots across New Eden indulge in 'harmless' snowball attacks on each other, one cannot but wonder if these 'Festival Launchers' may be the stepping stones for something more dangerous.

What is the ultimate plan of this potentially sinister and mysterious alliance?
