EVE University Announce Temporary Removal of Wartime SOP

New Eden - In a startling change of pace, EVE University [E-UNI] has announced a temporary suspension of their Wartime Standard Operating Procedure [SOP].

This policy, which forbids ratting, mining and hauling while under wardec, has served to protect many new pilots from losing ships and modules they really couldn't afford to lose.

According to Irdalth Delrar, "the reasons for the SOP have faded into legend" and many new pilots suffer under the restrictions, so therefore came the decision to temporarily suspend all normal wartime rules.

According to Delrar, they expect to see an increase in wardecs during this time, believing there are a number of blue corps who would wardec them for the fun of it.

A member of E-Uni said: "I understand that the SOP might be boring to some members but I feel it is necessary. People that are questioning the SOP will see by themselves what happens when you are out there alone in a PVE setup and no help around."

Members of the corporation seem to be cautiously optimistic about this change , although several have also stated that they plan to keep to SOP regardless.

The SOP will be suspended for one month and after that remain suspended until the majority of E-UNI members vote for its return.

Sansha’s Nation Recruiting

Pator, Heimatar - On Wednesday, Citizen Astur appeared in the Pator system and exchanged words with capsuleer Drake Arson, a long-time Sansha supporter, and asked "are you ready to join with us?" Citizen Astur quickly formed a wormhole which took Drake Arson to Nation's home region in Stain.

Drake Arson A capsuleer task force quickly assembled and responding managed to destroy Citizen Astur's Revenant, after which Citizen Arson re-emerged from the wormhole piloting a Hel Supercarrier and re-engaged the capsuleer force. The task force of 80+ pilots managed to defeat Citizen Arson, his last words included, "I can return there whenever I please".

Attempting to contact former pilot Drake Arson, he had only these words: "Citizen Arson is Nation. I am Nation. We are one."

Ghost Hunter, a well known Sansha supporter and CEO of True Slave Foundations, portrayed the event as "beautiful". He said: "Brother Arson's work has proved invaluable and I am glad he has found home in Nation."

While ISD Tedra Kerrigan was the first reported capsuleer to be pulled into Sansha's ranks, Drake Arson is the first Sansha supporter and willing convert to join Nation. Citizen Arson Engaged

"Big or small, weak or strong, all are unified within Nation. Together, there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome." These are the words of True Slave Foundations. Such devout worship may sooner or later draw further supporters into the grasp of Nation.

Freighter Massacre in Pure Blind

EC-P8R, Pure Blind - On 03.09.113, the Fuzzy Logec alliance lost a convoy of freighters full of capital ship construction equipment to a permutation of an old scam by Goonswarm Federation.

Weeks ago Fuzzy Logec CEO Nekumi negotiated with Akara Ito of the Goonswarm Federation and believed that she had "bought 3JN9-Q, O-2RNZ and AGG-NR" for 30bn ISK and an agreement to supply Goonswarm with a number of capital ships per month.

Goonswarm had even offered Nekumi an escort fleet to keep Fuzzy Logec's capital production equipment secure. Fuzzy Logec jumped into EC-P8R from Torrinos, where they were met by their "escort" and summarily destroyed. Referencing an alleged lack of discipline in Goonswarm fleets, Akara Ito noted that "Everybody remembered not to shoot the first neutral appearing and we held our fire until the very last freighter was trapped." Nekumi estimated Fuzzy Logec's losses at 8 freighters and 2 Orcas, all full of equipment.

After the rout, Akara claimed that Goonswarm faced an internal issue, with pilots dropping from the fleet to loot wrecks away from the eyes of their FC. Facing this insubordination, Akara Ito says "blues were shot at." While some pilots still managed to loot and escape unlogged, Akara notes two Chimera BPOs as some of the higher value items captured.

Nekumi said she knew very well of Goonswarm's reputation but believed the deal to be fair. Her alliance is still seeking an agreement for ownership of a few nullsec systems, saying "If [anyone] needs an alliance who build caps (if they're used to kill Goons, they're cheaper), we just need a few nice quiet systems."

Akara Ito commented "I'd sell systems anytime."

Ponzi Scheme a Success

Jita, The Forge - On 12.8.113 the investment corporation, Phaser Inc. [-PINC] shut down their business, closed all 3360 active accounts and took an alleged 1 Trillion ISK profit.

-PINC, run by Eddie Lampert and Mordor Exuel, started business 8 months ago. Investors got promised a minimum interest of 5% per week which was either paid out or reinvested, a continuous reinvestment was meant to lead to a 1437% profit in one year. Initial skeptical opinions turned out to be right as Mordor Exuel has now revealed that "It was a 100% pure meant to be Ponzi scheme, right from the start."

The way it worked was thus; the money invested was used to pay the promised interests in an attempt to gain reputation and to lure in more investors and money. -PINC succeeded with that according to Mordor Exuel after automating the investment process: "It started to fly. People just threw billions at us without any form or personal contact."

Near the end -PINC began heavy advertisement to cash in as much money as possible. According to their numbers, they collected in total 1.8 Trillion ISK, paid 500 billion in interests and withdrawals and kept 1 Trillion ISK as profit. Mordor said that they wanted to "earn big...without worries about ISK ever again" and went on to say that now "With 500 billion for each" they should be able to do just that.

Delicious Monster, one of the affected investors.told how he invested until he had around 2 Billion ISK in their books, which he has lost, and admits that their scheme was crafty. He went on to say how he expects karma to "come back and screw them", but that he has also learned that "you can't trust anyone in New Eden".

There seems to be some capsuleers however, that are skeptical about the numbers. One of those that has doubts is Lauren Hellfury, she considers the alleged profit to be unlikely high. Without proof she believes that "we are still awaiting the first pure 1 Trillion ISK scam" and that "such a significant event "requires a demonstration of success, not merely a claim."

Phaser Inc. is now closed and Mordor Exuel and Eddie Lampert believe that it has been a journey and consider their scheme a sucess: "We fulfilled over 800 withdrawal requests. We answered over 6,000 mails and processed more than 15,000 payouts. It's been an incredible event. And, isn't that beautiful after all? This can only be done in New Eden."

Server downtime on Sept 13

The datacenter where the Perpetuum servers are located will move places soon, so we will have to physically move our servers as well.

To make this possible, the server will be taken offline in the early hours of Tuesday, September 13, and will return into service later that day during the evening hours (exact times will be announced later).

Since this process not only affects the game servers, but everything else too, our website and all connected services will be also unavailable for that time. Players will be of course compensated for the lost time by extending their account expiration by one day (EP accumulation is unaffected by the downtime).
