Capsuleer Outer Region Political Summary

Y113.02.01 - Y113.02.28.

February was an eventful month in the outer regions. The first two weeks saw what can only be described as a total collapse of the IT Alliance bloc. The alliance was seen to reduce and then altogether cease its attempts to fight back against the invading Deklein Coalition, resulting in the bulk of the Fountain region falling before the end of the 10th, with the last station succumbing to attacking forces on the 15th.

Although IT Alliance still holds many stations throughout Delve, it appears that alliance operations have ended. The major powers in the area now include the Pandemic Legion alliance, who have taken key stations systems such as NOL-M9 and now control of much of the high value moon resources in the area.

In Geminate and nearby low security areas of empire space, an attack was launched on the Northern Coalition (NC). This began with the seemingly intentional disbanding of the Rebellion Alliance on the 13th, after which a coalition of alliances primarily from the northeast of New Eden launched an assault on the area. Thousands of ships have been destroyed in the past two weeks, with two stations in Geminate falling to the invaders.

The most notable battle of this conflict so far has been dubbed by capsuleers as the "Valentine's Day Massacre". This huge battle within the Uemon system on February 14th saw the greatest observed loss of titan class vessels in the history of New Eden. An astounding twelve titans and seven supercarriers were reported as being destroyed in this single clash. The NC suffered the larger blow, losing ten of the titans and five of the supercarriers.

Capsuleer Outer Region Political Summary

Y113.01.14 - Y 113.01.31

The focal area over the last two weeks continues to be the Fountain region, with pressure mounting on IT Alliance (IT). The key outpost system of 6VDT-H, which was IT's staging area in the region, was subject to an around-the-clock siege by the Deklein Coalition starting on the 27th. The system fell four days later in the afternoon of the 31st, with TEST gaining sovereignty that evening. IT Alliance and its allies did not appear to undertake any large scale efforts to lift the siege of the system.

Meanwhile, two member corporations of IT, FinFleet and x13, left the alliance citing disagreements with the leadership structure. The loss of the large number of supercapital vessels owned by these corporations is considered by many to be a heavy blow to the capacity of IT Alliance to project its power. The two corporations have since formed a new alliance together, Raiden., who have taken residence in the Detorid region.

The mercenary alliance Pandemic Legion launched a new campaign, assaulting key objectives of the Deklein Coalition. Thus far, they have been successful in incapacitating several jump bridge links and attacking capital ship assembly arrays in the area. There is a great deal of speculation over the possibility that this campaign is being funded by IT Alliance, which considering the timing and nature of the attacks appears highly probable.

In the southeast, The Initiative has lost almost all of its territory after declaring its intention to withdraw from conquerable null sec, losing in excess of thirty stations in two weeks. This comes after a prolonged conflict with Against All Authorities, which started in September of last year. During this conflict, INIT and allies at one point successfully managed to push .-A-. from all of its nullsec holdings. However, this success did not last, with continued pressure from .-A-. and allies allowing them to slowly retake their territory.

White Noise and Red Alliance have been seen to gain significant territorial holdings from this, gaining most of the stations within the Immensea and Tenerifis regions.

Capsuleer Outer Region Political Summary

Y112.12.01 – Y113.01.13

The most visible event for many this period has been the assault launched on the IT Alliance-controlled region of Fountain. This is being headed up by the Goonswarm Federation and Test Alliance Please Ignore (TEST) alliance, with many other allied groups taking part. Two stations within the region have fallen to the attacking force thus far, in PNQY-Y and 9R4-EF.

The assault has seen the fiercest fighting in the region since IT Alliance ousted Pandemic Legion from it last year. 14,487 vessels were destroyed in the last month of Y112 within the Fountain region, a considerable rise from the average of just over six thousand in the six months prior to that. The IT Alliance coalition has sustained considerably greater losses than the attacking forces so far, accounting for more than half of all of the ships lost within the region that month. The fighting continues to escalate, with 114 Sovereignty Blockade Units destroyed in January versus just 52 in all of December.

The southeast has been highlighted by continued assaults by Against All Authorities (.-A-.) as they attempt to reclaim their former territories. Assisted by their allies, .-A-. is battling The Initiative (INIT), the new owners of the territory. Catch and Impass have seen large numbers of sovereignty blockade units deployed and destroyed, with daily skirmishes between the two sides. .-A-. have made slow but significant progress, regaining several key stations within the Catch region.

The north has seen an ongoing conflict between Pandemic Legion and the Northern Coalition. Using their large supercapital fleet, Pandemic Legion is fighting fight for control of the numerous Technetium-laden moons in the northern regions. Having lost seven titans and a supercarrier, this has been an incredibly expensive campaign for the alliance, which has just 1,300 members. In the same period, the Northern Coalition has suffered the loss of five supercarriers and three titans to Pandemic forces.
